The main focus is about how you work, your skills and importantly thinking in an interdisciplinary way (we believe you’ll probably have more than enough knowledge, but it’s how you use that knowledge that will determine your effectiveness). However, there are discipline specific interviews, guides and examples and there is a chance for you to create discipline specific forum discussions with people of a similar interest.

Coaching Faqs
Coaching is the act facilitating your development, well-being and performance.
It’s purpose is to raise self-awareness and identify choices. Through coaching together we shall aim to find your solutions, develop your skills and change your attitudes and behaviours, if this is what you want or need.
Through discussion. We will be there to listen, to question and to reflect back what I hear and see, to potentially hold you to account for your actions and to ensure that you are viewing your dilemma/issue without bias, from a cleaner perspective.
The coaching support we provide is focused on help you develop the strategies and plans to help you move forward. You are most likely to have the answer in your mind, in your teams, in your previous experience, but with modern work and the pace of life we become cluttered, confused and stuck. Occasionally we may offer a suggestion, but the principle way we work is to unlock your abilities, actions and progress.
We aim to make coaching exciting, something you look forward and enjoy. We will put interesting, challenging and varied activities and frameworks in front of you to help you see a problem, situation or opportunity in a new light. With many of our clients there is laughter, moments of quiet contemplation, get-up-out-of-your-chair movement and sometimes emotion. We’re there to support you, help you and move you forward.
In addition to a Masters degree in Occupational Psychology, Rachel is an accredited executive coach with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approved practitioner.
Yes, at the moment all coaching is offered via Zoom, Teams, Google meet etc. We plan to return to face-to-face coaching eventually.
Yes. Anything you raise with us will be held in confidence. In some instances you might want to share this information with others or be proactive in sharing this with your company (see next question). Doing so can help create come work-context specific accountability. Ultimately, you should know that you can speak in full confidence.
We work with individuals one-on-one where you are investing in the support. We also work with people through their company, in which case it is all about setting the agreement beforehand. Often when a company is sponsoring somebody to be coached a degree of feedback between parties is agreed. This can help align your coaching goals with work performance and ensure the changes you’re making are more visible and impactful.
From parents returning to work, to executives in big-tech, to start-up entrepreneurs, to university leadership teams, to butchers and bakers (not candlestick makers yet!) – in companies ranging from Google, Discovery Channel, University of Sheffield, The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Bayer, Schneider Electric, the English Insitute of Sport.
This depends on your need. Typically a programme of at least five sessions works well for people. In reality we have been working with people ongoing for over 10 years, such is the trust they place in our support, but if you only need one session then that’s what you need. We can discuss this to find a number that works for you.
irst drop us a line at enquiries@supportingchampions.co.uk to tell us a bit more about who you are, your need and hopes. We would then arrange a 30 minute meeting with Rachel over Zoom to undertake what’s known as a ‘chemistry call’, i.e. a coaching relationship requires mutual buy-in and rapport and this is the chance to find out if you can work with us. If at that point you feel we’re right for you and coaching is what you thought it was going to be then we can move forward we’ll let you know the costs and agree a programme of support.
Workshop Faqs
The main workshops we support teams with are;
- High Performance Team Development
- Team Resilience
- High Performance Habits
Each aspect of these themes can be broken down further into key areas (e.g. Performance Teams – Trust, Norms, Psychological Safety; Habits – Sleep, Diet) for a deep dive focus to create real impact and behaviour change. We do not offer ‘off-the-shelf’ workshops. Part of our unique support is custom designing the workshops to best support you, your unique team in your unique context. We know from having worked with elite performers that applying the same training and development for one person and team will not apply and be effective for another – so we pride ourselves on listening to you and developing a programme and sessions that will have maximum effect.
Yes. It’s common for people to be inspired by the Steve’s keynote speech, but then start thinking about making a change – so prompting the question, “How do we get started?” We can do this straight after a keynote session or as a part of a follow up programme.
Normally we work with teams for at least three sessions, giving us a chance to get to know you and create some momentum. We have worked with some teams ongoing for over 5 years. It’s up to you and specific to how we can create momentum for you.
We offer both. Utilising our experience of creating award winning personal development, we have custom designed workshops throughout the pandemic to inspire teams by harnessing the remote – home working environment to support teams. We’re now just opening back up again and working with teams in person too.
We focus on empowering you, developing your skills and enabling you to take the team forward yourselves. We pride ourselves NOT culturing dependency – it is you we want to get results for by upgrading your effectiveness to deal with the challenges your team are faced with to unlock the potential in your team.
That depends. We work with a range of teams from Google, Discovery Channel, AT Kearney, sports team and institutions. As such there is a range of prices based on who you are. The best thing to do is drop us a line at enquiries@supportingchampions.co.uk, describe who you are, what your need is and we will let you know a cost.
After your enquiry, we’d schedule a briefing call to hear more about your current situation, dynamics in the teams and the key messages you’re looking to inspire your team with. We’ll also discuss some logistics and ask you to sign and return an agreement.
After the event you can pay electronically via out invoicing system, using credit card, bank transfer or PayPal.
